dry patch

We all go through some rough patches in our lives. Don't we? My little grandson put a new spin on it the other day, let me explain...
Last Wednesday I had the opportunity to watch Aydan and Eli overnight. I gave Dior and Matt a free night. We had fun playing watching shows, I had them have a bath before bed and as I tucked Aydan in bed, I said kiss me goodnight... I leaned down to kiss him and just before the smaker..he says "I have a dry patch..pointing at a small red spot on the right side of his lip. It made me laugh. what a cutie..he comes up with the funniest things. So matter of fact.
So when we hit a rough or dry patch.. kiss it better and go on.. Love ya!

Sometimes you get more than you came for....

I went to the Post Office today to mail a package for Steve. He asked for some random items to be sent... Fruity Pebbles cereal, cinammon pop tarts and koolaid! Anyway while I was waiting in line this portly older gentleman walked over to the wall and was looking at the sample packets of stamps that were available. He had to reach really high and he being short and take note..very portly... it was a stretch, he then having perused the bunch tried to put it back. He stretched and stretched and couldnt get it on. He tried one last time to get the stamps back on the hook. Up went the stamps and down went his pants, to his ankles . Yes, he was wearing Fruit of the looms, saw it on the back. I was alittle surprised but more amused... and turned to the lady behind me and I said.. you get alittle more than you came for at the Post Office. :) Needless to say he and his wife scurried out of the Post Office!! I had a little chuckle though. Where was my camera...

Ayden and I learned how to find sand dollars and I have 40 of them drying . I could have gotten a hundred of them. I will tell you my secret but you have to go hunting with me!!.

Skunks and Storms

The other night we had a huge storm I woke up to the thunder and lightening and noticed a horrible smell, it smelled like skunk!!. It stung my nose it was sooo bad. I covered my nose and tried to go back to sleep. When I awoke I asked Paul if he could smell skunk he said no and he has a pretty good sniffer. Now we live in the city and although there is a golf course behind us it has a canal to separate us. We have occasionally had a whiff of a skunk but nothing like this. I got home later that day and there were some messsages on my machine. One was from our neighbor, Lori. She appolgized for the commotion from 1 am to 3 am that the dog was making. Apparently a SKUNK had gotten in their back yard and the dog got it cornered by their door in the back yard. It sprayed and sprayed and sprayed the house the dog and everything. They finally were able in the rain etc to use the 10 foot pole for the pool and edge it out of the backyard and out the gate. She said it was just awful the house was yellow from the spray. Needless to say they have been very busy deskinking things these last few days. And I'm not crazy!! Whew!

Run on sentences and annoying requirements of work

No dashes questions exclamation points only commas and periods. This is what we are told when we chart for work(I am a home health RN). No wonder my writing has deterioated to read like a first grader. Mr Larson ( my language teacher in Magrath Alberta who was a WEIRDO!!!!! )told me I had too many run on sentences..little did he know.So if I have too many run on sentences or use library text or other annoying flaws in my writing please just ignore. It's all the fault of WORK!!

A hard lesson learned

I just want to say a few words about trips with adult children.
Remember once children come back into the home they regress to their previous behaviors. I don't think they even realize it. I for one am guilty of this.
We went to California this week and had a great time and for the most part it was great. We went to the horse races at Del Mar, shopping, eating out the beach and ahem.. Disneyland. Now I like Disneyland like once every 5 years but I have a daughter that if they had a suite available she would move into it. She by the way is an adult.
Anyways we went to Disneyland for the day and she had made plans to stay an extra day with her girlfriend. Who she was going to stay with and hang out at Disneyland would bring her back the next day after they spent another day at Disneyland. Needless to say guess what I did the next day. Drove the husband and son to the golf course 40 min from the hotel, picked up daughter at hotel, drove to Disneyland an hour and a half away and then back to hotel. I had a half hour rest then to the golf course to pick up the men. Lets see I was on the road about 5 hours. The adult daughter got back to the hotel at 3 AM the next day. I have a difficult time sleeping in a different place waiting for kids to return etc.It was a absolute horrible experience . Lets just say.. It will not happen again. I consider it a valuable lesson that I learned the hard way.
